ROUGH HOUSE

Hey everyone!

First off, if you’re even reading this, THANK YOU. You’re invested in my comic enough to care and that means a lot to me.

I know it’s been barely a month since my last break in updates but I’ll be taking another one for a few reasons. It’ll be a shorter break because I’ll still throw pages up here and there, probably a couple times a week (as of right now I have 4 pages ready to be scanned, so be sure to check twitter to be alerted as to when they go up), but the daily updates are going to stop until further notice. Here’s why: It may not seem that way to the casual reader, but writing, drawing, inking, and lettering a comic all by one’s self is actually a lot of work; and It’s all I’ve been doing for the past several months. ( I did take a break from updating the website a little while ago but I was still drawing a lot.) In other words I’m mentally burnt out, and rest is just as important as work. Secondly, as if on cue, I’ve come down with an awful toothache that is seriously affecting my mood. It’s on a wisdom tooth so I have to get it extracted, and that can’t happen until the end of the month! So if you think making a comic is hard work, try doing it with a throbbing pain that won’t go away– IN YOUR HEAD.

Now, That said, there is some good news: I actually am nearing the completion of the first volume of Rough House! I’ve already released issues #1 and #2; and #3 is on the way, but what I’m really excited about is compiling all five chapters into one graphic novel that….(drumroll) I’LL BE KICKSTARTING! I had considered kickstarting in the past but never got around to it, but after talking with The Womb Mates, I think it’s a great idea! I plan to be done with chapter 5 and launch a Kickstarter campaign in June!

So again, thanks for reading both the comic and hopefully this blog post, and if you’re so inclined, please continue to vote and spread the word even if I’m updating less frequently. I hope to start posting pages daily again soon enough!

After updating damn near every day for the past 4 months I’m going to have to unfortunately slow things down a bit. I will still be posting as frequently as possible, which is why I don’t want to set specific days for new pages. I will update several days in a row often enough, but i’ll also be taking breaks here and there to give myself time to scan a new batch, or to simply take a little break from all the hard work. Just a little FYI for the regular readers (You guys are awesome btw)! So be sure to follow the Rough House twitter account @RoughHouseComic to know when I’ll be posting new pages!
